You can write payment events using milestones in MS Project Pro. You can link payment to the start of the work or to its completion.

Creating a task type column in MS Project Pro

You can highlight payment tasks using the task type column. 

Steps to create a task type column in MS Project Pro:

  1. Click the "Project" button in the top menu.
  2. Click the "Custom Fields" button in the "Properties" block.
  3. Click the "Task" box.
  4. Select the "Text" in the "Type" field.
  5. Select an empty field and rename (for example "Task type") it by click the "Rename ..." button.
  6. Set the list of values by clicking the "Lookup ..." button.
  7. Set the list of cost types in the "Lookup table" block. (Read more "Adding the custom fields in MS Project Pro").
  8. Set the default value.
  9. Click the "Close" button in the "Edit lookup Table for " window.
  10. Click the "Ok" button in the "Custom Fields" window.

Now you can add the "Task type" column and set their type.
