Steps to link tasks within a project in MS Project Server:
- Open MS Project Server.
- Add the "Predecessors" column. (Read more "Creating and editing a custom view in MS Project Server")
- Click the "Projects" item in the left menu.
- Click the project name in the "Project Name" column.
- Click the "TASK" item in the tom menu.
- Click the "Edit" button in the "Project" block.
- Select the "In Browser" item.
- Select tasks and click the "Link Tasks" button in the "Editing" block in the top menu.
- Or
- Enter the predecessors task Id in the "Predecessors" column.
- To save click the "Save" button in the "Project" block in the top menu.
- To close click the "Close" button in the "Project" block in the top menu.

You can establish links between tasks of different projects.
Steps to link portfolio project tasks in MS Project Server:
- Open MS Project Server.
- Click the "Projects" item in the left menu.
- Select projects in the "Project Name" column.
- Click the "PROJECTS" item in the top menu
- Click the "Open" button in the "Project" block.
- Select the "In Microsoft Project for Editing" item.
