You can add three type of enterprise resources in the MS Project Server:

  • Work. For this type resource you have pay for a hour.
  • Material. For this resource type you have to pay per unit.
  • Cost. For this type of resource, you must specify costs.

Steps to creat an enterprise resource in the Project:

  1. Open MS Project Server.
  2. Click the "Resources" item in the left menu.
  3. Click the "RESURCES" item in the top menu.
  4. Click the "New" button in the "Resources" block.
  5. Choose the resource type in the field "Type".
  6. If its budget resource click the "Budget" box.
  7. If you click the "Generic" box you will describe the generic resource.
  8. Enter the resource name in the field "Display Name".
  9. Select the RBS level to the resource in the "RBS:" field.
  10. You can add shot name in the "Initials:" field.
  11. Choose the resource calendar in the "Base Calendar:" field.
  12. Set up the resource booking type in the "Default Booking Type:" field.

  1. Click the "Server Settings" item in the left menu.
  2. Click the "Enterprise Custom Fields and Lookup Tables" item in the "Enterprise Data" block.
