Comparing project plane in MS Project Pro

• Check project changes.
• Create or update project templates.

Steps to compare projects:

1. Click the “Report” button in the top menu. 
2. Click the “Compare Projects” button in the “Project” block.
3. Click the “Browse …” button in the “Compare Project Versions” window.
4. Select the task table in the “Task Table:” field.
5. Select the resource table in the “Resource Table:” field.
6. Click the “Ok” button.

Comparing tasks in MS Project Pro

• Comparation plan. This plan has three types of columns: 
  • current project filed, 
  • previous project field,
  • field with the different between them.
• Current project plan.
• Previous project plan.

1. You can display tasks information by clicking “Task Comparation” the button.
2. You can use a filter in the task on the comparation plan by selecting in the “Items:” field:
   • All items. Will be showed all current project tasks and previous project tasks.
   • All differences. Will be showed only tasks with same differences.
   • Changed items.  Will be showed only tasks with user changes.
   • Unchanged items.  Will be showed only tasks without user changes.
   • Common items. Will be showed tasks same tasks in both projects.
   • Unique items of current version. Will be showed tasks only from current project.
   • Unique items of previous version. Will be showed tasks only from previous project.
3. You can show or hide column on the comparation plan by selecting in the “Columns:” field:
   • Data and differences columns.
   • Data columns only.
   • Differences columns only.
4. If you want to hide the legend of comparison report by clicking the “Legend” box.
5. If you want to display same task in all projects:
   • Select the task.
   • Click the “Go to Item” button.

Comparing resources in MS Project Pro

Steps to use the comparing resources in MS Project Pro

1. You can display resources information by clicking “Task Comparation” the button.
2. You can use a filter in the resource on the comparation plan by selecting in the “Items:” field:
   • All items. Will be showed all current project resources and previous project tasks.
   • All differences. Will be showed only resources with same differences.
