Using the timescale in MS Project Pro

Steps to set the timescale in MS Project Pro:

  1. Click the "View" item in the top menu.
  2. You can set the time period on a Gantt chart in the "Timescale:" field in the "Zoom" block. 
  3. You can show the entire project on a Gantt chart by clicking the "EntireProject" button in the "Zoom" block.
  4. You can show selected tasks on a Gantt chart by clicking the "Selected Tasks" button in the "Zoom" block.
  5. You can zoom in on tasks on a Gantt chart by clicking the "Zoom" button and selecting the "Zoom In" item.
  6. You can zoom out on tasks on a Gantt chart by clicking the "Zoom" button and selecting the "Zoom Out" item.
  7. You can set custom zoom:
    1. Click the "Zoom" button
    2. Select the "Zoom ..." item.
    3. Select the time period.
    4. Or set tne number and time format (days, week, month).
    5. Click the "Ok" button.

Customizing the timescale in MS Project Pro

Steps to customize the timescale in MS Project Pro:

  1. Double click on the gantt chart timescale.
  2. Set timescale options in the "Timescale options" block.
    1. Set timescale levels in the "Show" field.
    2. Set the width of the time period in the "Size" field.
    3. Show or hide the scale separator by clicking "Scale separator" box.
  3. Select the timescale level on top of the window.
  4. Set the time units in the "Units:" field.
  5. Set the interval in the "Count:" field.
  6. Select the date format in the "Label:" field.
  7. Select the type of align in the "Align:" field.
  8. You can show or hide the fiscal calendar by clicking the "Use fiscal year" box.
  9. You can show or hide the tike line by clicking the "Tick lines" box.
  10. Click the "Ok" button.

Customizing the timescale in MS Project Pro

Steps to customize the timescale in MS Project Pro:

  1. Double click on the gantt chart timescale.
  2. Click the "Non-working time" tub.
  3. Set the display format to non-working time in the "Draw:" block.
  4. You can set the background color of the non-working time in the "Color" field.
  5. You can set the background pattern of the non-working time in the "Pattern" field.
  6. You can set the calendar of the non-working time in the "Caledar" field.
  7. Click the "Ok" button.
