Using the team planner view in MS Project Pro

MS Project Pro has the team planner tool. You can plan the team work and level resources in this tool. This tool is Team Planner view.

Steps to use the team planner view in MS Project Pro:

  1. Open the team planner view.
  2. You can see resource overallocation in different period. Red lines show overallocation period for each resource.
  3. You can move the task on the free period for each resource. Use the mouse for moving.

Steps to customize the team planner view in MS Project Pro:

  1. Open the team planner view.
  2. Click the "Team Planner Format" item in the top menu.
  3. You can show different task levels even if the resource is assigned to subtasks. Click the "Roll-Up" button and slect the level.
  4. You can change the time period. 
    1. Click the "View" item in the top menu.
    2. Set the time period in the ""Timescale: field.
  5. You can change the showing tasks. Tasks for the same time period will be displayed in different rows.Click the "Expand Resource Row" box in the "Show/Hide" block.
  6. You can show or hide the "Unassigend Tasks" column by clicking the "Unassigend Tasks" box in the "Show/Hide" block.
  7. You can show or hide the "Unscheduled Tasks" column by clicking the "Unscheduled Tasks" box in the "Show/Hide" block.
  8. You can change the format auto scheduled tasks:
    1. Click the "Auto Scheduled" button.
    2. Click the "Border Color" item to change the border color of the auto scheduled tasks.
    3. Click the "Full Color" item to change the full color of the auto scheduled tasks.
  9. You can change the format manually scheduled tasks
    1. Click the "Manually Scheduled" button.
    2. Click the "Border Color" item to change the border color of the manually scheduled tasks.
    3. Click the "Full Color" item to change the full color of the manually scheduled tasks.
  10. You can change the format actual task parts:
    1. Click the "Actual Work" button.
    2. Click the "Border Color" item to change the border color of the actual parts of the task.
    3. Click the "Full Color" item to change the full color of the actual parts of the task.
  11. You can change the format external tasks:
    1. Click the "External Tasks" button.
    2. Click the "Border Color" item to change the border color of the external  tasks.
    3. Click the "Full Color" item to change the full color of the external tasks.
  12. You can change the format of uncompleted task parts:
    1. Click the "Late Tasks" button.
    2. Click the "Border Color" item to change the border color of the uncompleted parts of the task.
    3. Click the "Full Color" item to change the full color of the uncompleted  parts of the task.
  13. If you want to add task on the free time period, click the "Prevent Overalocation" button.
