Import data from MS Excel to MS Project Pro

Steps to inport data from MS Excel to MS Project Pro

  1. Click the "File" item in the top menu.
  2. Click the "New" item in the left manu.
  3. Click the "New from Excel workbook" button.

Import data from MS Excel to MS Project Pro

Steps to select a location to import data from MS Excel to MS Project Pro:

  1. Select the excel file in the "Open" window.
  2. If you can not found the file, change file type.
  3. Click the "Open" buttom.
  4. Click the "Next >" button in the "Welcome" window.
  5. Select the map. If you would like to create a new map, click the "New map" button.
  6. Click the "Next >" button.
  7. Select the project file. 
    1. You can create a new file by clicking the "As a new project" button.
    2. You can add date to the active project by clicking the "Append the data to the active project" button.
    3. You can merge date to the active project by clicking the "Merge the data into the active project" button.
  8. Click the "Next >" button.
  9. Select the type of project data in the "Select the type of date you want to import" block.
  10. Click the "Next >" button.
  11. If the excel file has header, click the "Export includes header" box.
  12. If the excel file has, click the "Include assignment rows in output" box.
  13. Click the "Next >" button.

Steps to select columns to import data from MS Excel to MS Project Pro:

  1. Select the worksheet name with data in the "Source worksheet name:" field.
  2. Set excel fields in the "From: Excel Field" field.
  3. Set project fields in the "To: Microsoft Project Field" filed.
  4. You can see the data type in the "Data Type" field.
  5. If you want to add all excel field, click the "Add All" button.
  6. If you want to delete all field, click the "Clear All" button.
  7. If you want to insert field, click the "Insert Row" button or click the "Insert" button on the keyboard.
  8. If you want to delete field, select the field and click the "Delete Row" button or click the "Delete" button on the keyboard.
  9. Click the "Next >" button.
  10. You can save the map, click the "Save Map ..." button.
    1. Enter the map name in the "Map name" field in the "Save Map" window.
    2. Click the "Save" button in the "Save Map" window.
  11. Click the "Finish" button.
