Managing project calendars in MS Project Pro
In MS Project Pro, calendars are used to describe working and non-working times. You can create an unlimited number of calendars.
MS Project Pro uses calendars for:
- The project. The project calendar defines the default working time for the entire project (for all project resources and tasks);
- The resours. The resource's calendars are used for individual resources or for groups of resources that have individual work schedules;
- The tasks. The task's calendars are used for tasks that may be performed during times other than the standard project calendar.
MS Project Pro has three base calendar (created by developers):
- 24 Hours. This calendar has not non-working times.
- Night Shift. This calendar has one non-working day. It is a Sunday. Working's time is from 00:00 to 08:00. The break is each day a one hour.
- Standard. This calendar has two non-working day. These are Saturday and Sunday. Working's time is from 08:00 to 17:00. The break is each day a one hour.
You can change a non-working day and break's time on base calendar. You can use either system's base calendar or your base calendar.

Creating a new calendar in MS Project Pro
You can creating your base calendar in MS Project Pro.
The steps of creating a new calendar:
- Click the "Change Working Time" on the "Project" tab, in the "Properties" group.
- Click the button "Create New Base Calendar" in top of window "Change Working Time".
- Enter a name new calendar in field "Name".
- Select type of calendar in windows "Create New Base Calendar".
- If you want create without nonworking days click "Create new base calendar".
- If you want to create calendar use other calenar's nonworking days click "Make a copty of".
- Click to button "Ok".
You can set the work time and holiday in your calendar.

Edit calendar holidays and weekends in MS Project Pro
You can set work day and work time in calendar in MS Project Pro:
- Click the "Change Working Time" on the "Project" tab, in the "Properties" group.
- Choose tab "Work Week" in window "Change Working Time".
- Choose line "Default" and put button "Details..."
- Select day(s) in the window "Details for [Default]" for changing.
- If you want to set nonworking day you will set item "Set days to nonworking time".
- If you want to set your work time you will set item "Set days to these specific working time".
- If you want to return default time you wiil set item "Use Project default time for these days"
- Click button "Ok".

You can set holidays and specific working day and working time in MS Project Pro:
- Click the "Change Working Time" on the "Project" tab, in the "Properties" group.
- Choose tab "Exceptions" in window "Change Working Time".
- Enter name exceptin in field "Name".
- Enter exception start date in field "Start".
- Enter exception end date in field "Finish".
- For discribe your set put button "Details..."
- Select type of wokring time blok "Set wrokring time fot these exception".
- If you do not work in this day you will set item "Nonworking".
- If you work special time in this day you will set item "Working time" and set the time with the break.
- You can set reccurence for this exception in block "Reccurence pattern".
- You can set different recurrence for types: daily, weekly, monthly, yearly.
- You can set range reccurence in the block "Range reccurence". In this block, you must set the exclusion period or the exclusion amount..
- Click button "Ok".

Setting calendar options in MS Project Pro
You can set main options for time managment in MS Project Pro.
Step of setting alendar options:
- Click the "File" in the topn menu.
- Click menu item "Options".
- Click item "Schedule" in th window "Project Options".
- You can choose a project in the field "Calendar options for this project",
- You can set day start of week in the field "Week starts on:".
- You can set a mounth of fiscal year starts in the feild "Fiscal year starts on:".
- You can set time of start working day in field "Default start time:".
- You can set time of end working day in field "Default end time".
- You can set number of working hours in day in field "Hours per day:".
- You can set number of working hours in week in field "Hours per week:"
- You can set number of working day in month in field "Day per month:"
- Click the "Ok" button.
